Instructions for UltraDiff Upgrades
|
|
|
|
You can purchase step-up upgrades or register for free upgrades by logging in to
the Customer Resource Area from your current version of UltraDiff.
For details of upgrades available, simply click on the UltraDiff Help menu
and then click on the "Resources and Support" item to automatically login.
These notes outline the steps necessary to apply various types of upgrades to your
existing UltraDiff installation.
You should refer to the detailed notes for Version 3.2 or Version 3.1 and earlier
depending on the actions required for each step.
The different types of Upgrades available are:

Paid upgrades to a different version / edition
On successful completion of purchase, you receive an email outlining the steps needed.
If your upgrade includes a change of licence type from Static to Roving then you
must install and activate the new version on the same PC as the old version otherwise
the process will fail. Once completed, you can then use the Roving licence normally.
- Park the licence from your existing installation of UltraDiff following
the instructions relevant to that version ( Version 3.2 Version 3.1 and earlier
)
- Using the link provided in the e-mail, download and install the new version of
UltraDiff following the instructions relevant to the new version ( Version 3.2 Version 3.1 and earlier
)
Do not install the new upgrade to the same directory as the existing UltraDiff
installation.
We recommend you accept the default installation directory suggested by the UltraDiff
installer.
- Activate the newly installed version of UltraDiff following the instructions
relevant to the new version ( Version 3.2 Version 3.1 and earlier
)
Paid upgrades to convert from Static to Roving
On successful completion of purchase, you receive an email outlining the steps needed:
- Park the licence from your existing installation of UltraDiff following
the instructions relevant to that version (( Version 3.2 Version 3.1 and earlier
)
- Open UltraDiff again and activate following the instructions relevant to
the existing version ( Version 3.2 Version 3.1 and earlier
)
IMPORTANT:
You must activate these upgrades on the same PC as the existing installation otherwise
the process will fail. Once completed, you can then use your new licence normally.
When activating, please ensure that you select the "Roving" licence type in the
Activation Wizard.
Free upgrades to your current version
These are usually minor, cumulative, upgrades issued from time to time that may
include new features and/or bug fixes.
They are issued as upgrade installation packages and can be downloaded directly
from the Downloads section of the Customer Resource Area (see the notes at the top
of this page for how to access this).
Once downloaded, close UltraDiff and double-click on the package to begin
installation and follow the instructions given.
